See below for an explanation! Discover all the cards I really like the card "Discovery," so The Painter is a character built around that idea. Most of The Painter's cards create brushstrokes - either red, blue, or yellow. When The Painter makes two brushstrokes, their colors combine and you get to discover one of three cards: a red card if you painted red and red, a green card if you painted yellow and blue, etc. You'll constantly be in a rhythm of playing your collected cards to adapt to whatever it is you can discover - your discovered cards (called "Images") are powerful, but you won't always get exactly what you need, and you'll always need to set them up with the right color brushstrokes. Build decks while you build decks There are a ton of images for you to discover - over 80 uncollectable cards spread over six colors (red, purple, blue, green, yellow, and orange) - but you only start with a measly set of three images per color available to discover. In addition to building your main deck, you'll need to collect special packs of images, called Folios, that add to the images you can discover. You can build powerful synergies with the right collections of Folios, or you may want to get many of the same Folio in order to ensure you can reliably discover those images. Colorful themes Each image color has a special theme, so you may choose to focus on one specific color at the expense of others, or you may want to have each color reliably do one thing. Red images are fire-themed and focus on exhausting cards, the burnt condition (a damage-over-time effect that is only reduced when the enemy blocks), and ashes cards (a status that lingers in your hand). Blue images are water-themed and focus on damage reduction via hardness (a condition that is depleted when you attack or are attacked), discard, and gaining block for all characters (enemies and yourself). Yellow images are light-themed and focus on energy manipulation, buffs, and scrying. Green images are life-themed and focus on poison damage and cards that generate both attack and defense. Orange images are sky-themed and focus on the static condition (a condition that applies damage when you play cards) and self-weakening. Purple images are darkness-themed and focus on card manipulation and the blind condition (a condition that applies a variable chance for the enemy to miss attacks).
