Shuyu An apprentice mage from the Cat Planet who controls frost and water, searching the Spire for magical materials. Shuyu can apply and remove Frozen from cards to set up plays across turns, forge powerful Frostforged cards during combat, use Ice Shield and Ice Thorns to defend herself and defeat enemies, or manipulate Chill and other Debuffs to wear enemies down. New Content New Character: Shuyu Includes as many cards as a base-game character, including multiplayer cards, along with exclusive Relics and Potions. Most of the images used in this MOD are commissioned illustrations. A small portion comes from this game, other games, and images found online. No AI-generated images are used. The in-game character sprite is animated and very cute, meow! Character Introduction Shuyu is an apprentice mage from the Cat Planet who specializes in frost magic. She excels at casting spells using water in its different phases and can also condense ice into magical implements with various functions for use in battle. Hobbies: • Magic theory • Slacking off Main Mechanics Frozen Shuyu can apply Frozen to cards in her Hand. Frozen cards temporarily lose all effects and keywords, but gain Retain. When a Frozen card is discarded, Shuyu throws it as a block of ice, dealing damage to an enemy based on its Energy cost. Frozen is then removed from that card. Shuyu can also remove Frozen from cards in her Hand through other means. Besides throwing Frozen cards to deal damage, Frozen can also enable many tactical effects. The rest is up to players to discover! (PS: Frozen is an Affliction, and the game’s mechanics only allow a card to have one Affliction at a time. Therefore, applying Frozen to a card removes its previous Affliction. Make good use of this!) Frostforged Frostforged cards are a special type of card. All Frostforged cards have Retain. When a Frostforged card becomes Frozen, Frozen is immediately removed from it and the card is strengthened for the rest of combat. Try repeatedly applying Frozen to Frostforged cards to forge an invincible ice blade or ice shield! Ice Shield Ice Shield is a defensive mechanic similar to Plating or Multi-Layered Armor. Shuyu can gain Block equal to her Ice Shield each turn. However, Ice Shield decays when Shuyu is dealt attack damage by an enemy, whether or not that damage is Blocked, and the more Ice Shield she currently has, the faster it decays. (PS: If you find a way to reduce an enemy’s attack damage to 0, you can prevent Ice Shield from decaying!) Ice Thorns Shuyu surrounds herself with shards of ice for protection. Whenever an enemy attacks Shuyu, it takes damage equal to her Ice Thorns. Like Ice Shield, Ice Thorns decays when Shuyu is dealt attack damage by an enemy, but it always decays by only 1 each time. (PS: Likewise, Ice Thorns will not decay when an enemy deals 0 attack damage. However, Ice Thorns still deals damage!) Chill Chill is a Debuff applied to enemies that lasts for one turn. Chill causes an enemy to lose HP at the start of its turn, and it also loses additional HP whenever it receives a Debuff. Applying Chill to an enemy that already has Chill does not increase its amount or duration. Instead, it immediately triggers the HP loss at double its normal value. Fragile Fragile is a Debuff applied to enemies. Fragile increases attack damage taken by an enemy by 25%, but does not stack with Vulnerable. However, whenever Fragile reaches 5, it is converted into 3 Vulnerable, and the enemy takes damage based on its current amount of Vulnerable.
