The Sorceress

The Sorceress is a fragile but high-damage character that fights with a combination of powerful sorceries and cunning, roguish tricks. Gaining Combat Advantage allows her to amplify the damage of her attacks, and building Charisma boosts the power of her HP-draining magic and explosive Sorceries that can Prime enemies to increase the damage they take from her next attack. She can Exhaust cards out of her Hand and Discard Pile to push her magic beyond its limits, enabling Agile maneuvers that surprise enemies on their way out of her deck and reliable tricks that Shadowdance back into play after exhaustion. Quick and dexterous Sleights offer card selection and hand manipulation, but they work best when the enemy is distracted; each one you play increases the cost of all Sleights for the rest of the turn. And when all else fails and her back is against the wall, she can hold her own with Two-Weapon combat techniques that each generate their own unique token for an exclusive follow-up attack. This mod's a passion project I've been working on over the last few months, starting in Slay the Spire 1, and then moving to Slay the Spire 2 once I realized I wanted to entirely rethink the character's mechanics and rebuild her from the ground up. I'd still consider this a pretty early, basic prototype, and I'm going to be actively balancing and refining the character's cards and mechanics in the coming months. Someday in the future I'd like to be able to get some proper original art and animation for this, too, instead of relying on old commissions and what I can make myself, but that's going to take some time. In the meanwhile, I'll keep thinking of new ways to stretch what I have just a bit farther. Features: - A new playable character, the Sorceress. - 80 standard cards, 4 starter cards, 2 Ancient cards, 2 multiplayer cards, and 8 unique tokens. - 9 character relics, including the starter relic and its Ancient upgrade. - 3 character potions, one at each rarity. - Original Ancient conversations and Lore(tm). - 7 new epochs complete with unlocks and a mod config menu button to skip the unlocking process if you desire. - Extremely scrunkled programmer art. - Alarmingly basic paper cut-out animation and effects work. - No Fucking AI Credits The image in this description and the character selection menu is from Korvi__, while the image I'm using for the character sprite was drawn by Ghostnade. The rest site image was taken from a piece by Cupsofjade, and the character icon is from megueggu. The sound effect that plays when you select the character was made using sounds from SonoFxAudio and Saladsounds. Thanks to the modding channels in the Slay the Spire Discord for putting up with me not knowing what the hell I'm doing the last few months. Compatibility This mod includes an alternate starter deck for parchmentEngineer's More Neow mod. You'll need to make sure that More Neow comes before The Sorceress in your load order, but if it does you'll be able to acquire the Unfamiliar Deckbox relic and play with the alternate starter cards. Localization This mod is currently available in English, Simplified Chinese thanks to songsi1111 over on NexusMods and kristopher here on Steam, and partially in German thanks to Neotun. I can only personally vouch for the quality of the English text, but I'm very grateful to anybody who's willing to offer help with the translation and I'll do my best to make sure any localizations pass a Google translate sniff test. I don't love having to rely on that, because language is a delicate and nuanced art form I don't really trust a machine with, but it's the best I can do for now with what I've got. If you spot any issues with the localization or if you want to help clean things up or get localized text for different languages, let me know and I'll do whatever I can to help.
